Screw Auger Falls #3 at Gulf Hagas in Central Maine

Great slide. Drops into a deep pool. From Brownville Junction, Maine, take route 11 for 3 miles, then Katahdin Iron Works Road for about 7 miles. Stop at checkin (fee). Continue 7 miles to The Hermitage/Gulf Hagas trailhead. Hike to Screw Auger Falls (1.3 miles). You will cross a river (knee deep) for about 100 feet. Screw Auger has 3 slides. This is the 3rd set of falls. Great fun. Requires some swimming from the deep pool. Enjoy!
